IMAGES 2012

This annual, juried photography competition is open to all residents of Connecticut  and is highly regarded for excellence statewide.  IMAGES 2012 is the 31st annual competition and exhibition. Many outstanding portfolios were reviewed by our three jurors, Jill Enfiled, Lance Keimig and John Stanley.We are most grateful to them and to the many hours of deliberation in selecting the photographs for IMAGES 2012. As in all juried exhibitions, cuts need to be made and many fine works eliminated. We congratulate those whose work has been juried into IMAGES 2012 and thank all of the photographers who shared their artistic vision with us. We hope to see you back next year! All above events are free an dopen to the public. Events are held at the Mill Gallery of the Guilford Art Center, 411 Church Street, Guilford, CT.

PORTFOLIO PICK-UP
Photographers may pick up portfolios of work not accepted into the show at the Mill Gallery of the Guilford Art Center during regular gallery hours. Gallery hours are noon - 4pm daily and noon - 8pm on Thursdays. There will be NO hours on Easter Sunday, April 8. All work must be picked up by Sunday, April 22. Work not claimed by 3pm on Sunday, April 22 will be held at the Shoreline Arts Alliance office. There is a $10 per day storage fee for holding your portfolio.

Artists who have work going into the CT Hospice show will be notified as soon as the curator for Hospice makes her choice. Arrangements will be made with those selected artists to pick up those pieces in the Hospice show at the close of that exhibition, which will be May 23.


IMAGES 2012 Prize Winners
Congratulations to the First Honors recipients of the 31st annual photography show: Miela Barocas Mayer- Guilford, Shona Curtis-New Milford, David Gillich-Milford, Dianne Thouin-Old Saybrook. Honorable Mention Recipients are: Sara Augenbraun-Wilton, Liz Calvi-West Hartford, Peter Cooperman- Avon, Kathryn Frederick-Killingworth, Jill Grossman-Chester, Jerry Reed-Essex, Dana Osborn-Middlebury and David Ottenstein-New Haven. The Ann Christensen Award winner is Jackie Heithchue-Madison. The major sponsor of IMAGES 2012 is Yale-New Haven Hospital with additional support from CT DECD Office of the Arts, Sennheiser Electronics Corporation and Benjamin Connor, Esq. There were 199 submitting photographers and 1,250 photographs. The exhibition represents 84 photographers and 132 photos.

The Shoreline Arts Alliance leases space at the Guilford Art Center, 411 Church Street, Guilford, CT for this annual show. Directions to Guilford Art Center's Mill Gallery:
I-95 to Exit 58 - Guilford: North on Rt. 77 for 200 yards. Turn right into Guilford Art Center. Continue to the end of the driveway. The Gallery is in the yellow building.

IMAGES at CT Hospice:
At the close of the show at the Mill Gallery of the Guilford Art Center, many of the wonderful photographs from IMAGES are re-installed for a month long exhibition at CT Hospice in Branford. 2012 dates are April 25 - May 23.
